Although by vocation a composer, since completing my studies I have worked primarily as a software developer. During my PhD I discovered software from IRCAM such as OpenMusic, and learned how to code. After a few 'apprentice' years, working on (and studying) open source projects I started working as a web developer, then later worked for a number of start-ups, both in the UK and the US.

Since 2015 I have worked exclusively in the academic sector, on music projects that have a strong technological focus. I currently work as Research Software Engineer for PRiSM at the RNCM. I also work on projects outside RNCM, and if you are interested in hiring me then please get in touch.

The following is a list of just some of the projects I have worked on over the last few years:

John Cage and the Concert for Piano and Orchestra

This was an AHRC-funded project at the University of Huddersfield. My main contribution was to develop an interactive website for the project. This went beyond a mere website to include several apps, the main one being the Solo for Piano app, which turned the piano solo part of the score into a web application. Each one of the 84 notations from the score is presented so as to make the process of generating realisations - often a laborious process when done by hand - much easier. I often joke that it is not just one app, but 84 apps!
